The Best Personalized Coloring Books of 2026
We sorted through hundreds of listings to find the custom-name coloring books worth your money. Here is our shortlist, with picks by interest and budget.
1. CrayonStories: the story-coloring hybrid
Our overall winner. Instead of just stamping a name on the cover, CrayonStories builds a short adventure around the child: they appear as the hero on every spread and color the story as it unfolds. It reads like a picture book and works like a coloring book, which is why kids actually finish it. See CrayonStories personalized books →
2. Classic name coloring books
For a budget-friendly gift, classic personalized name books print the child’s name into page headers and cover art. Quality varies, so check page count and paper weight in the reviews. Shop name coloring books on Amazon →
3. Themed editions: unicorns, dinosaurs, space
Theme matters more than parents expect. A kid who loves dinosaurs will finish a mediocre dinosaur book and abandon a beautiful generic one. Pick the theme first, then check the personalization. Unicorn editions · Dinosaur & space editions
4. Educational picks
Alphabet and number editions sneak learning into quiet time; the best ones weave the name into the letters themselves. Shop educational coloring books →
What to check before you buy
Page count (30+ for a real gift), single-sided printing if markers are involved, and a preview showing how the name appears inside the book. Related: our age-by-age guide and the supplies guide.
